The throwing head is the core part of the vertical impact crusher (sand making machine), which is widely used in mining, sand, cement, metallurgy, hydropower engineering and other industries. As a main part of the sand-making machine, its wear resistance directly affects the overall operation effect of the machine.
Throwing head also can be called "impact block". Due to its direct contact with the materials, the impact block has to withstand high-speed impact and strong wear resistance during the operation of the sand-making equipment, or we say sand crushers to ensure that the operation failure rate of the entire equipment is kept low. If this part is seriously worn, the whole machine will not work normally, which will directly affect the sand-making effect and efficiency.
Reasons for the wear of the throwing head of the crushing equipment
1. The impact of the material
The main crushing form of the sand-making machine is impact crushing. Part of the accelerated material collides with the crushing cavity and is crushed, and part is crushed with stones. The rotor accelerates the material and forms a vortex shape inside the rotor. Through the guiding action of the main throwing head, the stone changes direction and is thrown outward along the tangential direction of the rotor. The main throwing head wears out under the long-term impact of the stone. It is so serious that it must be replaced after a period of time, otherwise, it will not only affect the crushing effect, but also cause the rotor body to be worn out, which will affect the dynamic balance, and easily cause adverse consequences such as spindle breakage.
2. The Material Property
Technicians from the Old Craftsman said that because the material is cubic, whether it is a plane or a pointed surface, the impact force generated by the contact with the main throwing head is different. In the speed range where the maximum and average impact force suddenly changes, the possibility of the collision between the sharp surface and the main throwing head is very high, which aggravates the wear of the main throwing head. On the other hand, if the hardness of the material is too large, the impact of the material on the throwing head will be stronger, the impact load on the throwing head will be greater, and therefore the wear of the throwing head will be more serious.
3. The Rotation Speed
If the rotation speed is too high, the stone will be thrown out of the rotor by the strong centrifugal force without sufficient collision. And the large impact force and average impact force of the material on the throwing head will be the largest. Obviously, if the stone is thrown out of the rotor without sufficient collision acceleration, it will have an adverse effect on its crushing effects, the long-term impact wear will greatly shorten the life of the main throwing head.
Three Ways to Improve the Wear-resistance of the Hammerhead
1. The wear of the throwing head of the sand making equipment (sand crusher) can be reduced from three aspects. One is to improve its material. Since the hardness, strength and toughness of the material of the throwing head will be an important indicator of its wear resistance, generally high wear-resistant material is recommended. Nowadays, in the market, the use of cemented carbide in the throwing head or impact block is the most ideal choice so as to achieve the effect of high-speed impact resistance, strong wear resistance and long service life.
2. To carefully sort the materials to be crushed by the sand making machine and screen out the materials with too large particles in the materials, which will reduce the pressure on the throwing head. Drying shall be carried out when necessary, which is beneficial to prolong the service life of the part.
3. The coordination with the rotor speed of other parts of the sand making machine, so that the speed of the rotor cannot be too fast, which will also speed up the wear of the throwing head. Therefore, the maintenance of the component can be carried out from these three aspects.
