Sand Making Machines ( VSI Crushers) and its Working Principle

The sand-making machine (Sand crushers or shredders) is the key fine crushing and shaping equipment in the sand-making process. Due to high efficiency, good shaping effect, stable operation, saving investment cost, energy saving, environmental protection, and other reasons, it is widely used in various stone /aggregate plants and mineral processing plants.

At present, most of the new sand-making machines use the stone-on-stone crushing technology that combines hydraulic drive and automatic discharge.

The sand-making machine is mainly composed of a main shaft, a feeding hopper, a distributor, a vortex crushing cavity, an impeller, a base transmission device, and a bracket.

Because the crushing action mainly occurs in the crushing cavity, the working principle in the vortex crushing cavity is mainly discussed here.

The incoming material enters the crushing cavity of the crusher through the feeding hopper. The structure and shape of the vortex crushing cavity is an annular space composed of cylinders at the upper and lower ends. The impeller rotates at a high speed in the vortex crushing cavity, and the material can also reside in the vortex crushing cavity to form a material lining. The crushing process of the material It occurs in the vortex crushing cavity, and the material lining separates the crushing effect from the wall of the vortex crushing cavity, so that the crushing effect is limited to the materials, and plays the role of wear-resistant self-lining. The impeller rotates at a high speed to generate airflow, which forms an internal self-circulation system through the distributor and the impeller in the vortex crushing cavity; thus, the material is finely crushed and discharged from the discharge port under its drive.

The new crushing technology of sand making machine adopts the combined cemented carbide welding throwing head to replace the traditional integral hammer head and square impact block, so that the throwing head is not only hard and tough but also has excellent high-temperature resistance performance. The new mechanism and principle improve the original workflow, which not only improves equipment efficiency and finished product quality but also saves electricity. In the whole process of machine-made/ artificial sand, the materials collide with each other, grind and break, and do not directly contact with metal parts, which reduces the probability of materials being polluted and deteriorated, and prolongs the service life of the equipment. Moreover, the interior of the crushing chamber has also been improved, and the air circulation is cleverly used, which reduces the probability of dust pollution and is more environmentally friendly.

The design of the open impeller now allows the maximum feed size to reach 150-180mm, which makes the VSI machine suitable for secondary crushing and other secondary crushing processes, and will partially replace the traditional secondary crushing machinery, such as impact or cone crusher.

Service Life is getting longer and longer

The wearing parts of the VSI sand-making machine include the inner and outer knives of the closed impeller, the upper and lower lining plates, the guide plate of the open impeller, and the impact plate of the stone-made iron. That the shape of the parts changes, and that the adoption of new wear-resistant materials, such as ceramic coating layer, tungsten composite materials, including the mature cemented carbide welding wear plates that our company developed, has greatly prolonged the service life of the crushing machine.

Dust pollution from machines is getting less and less

Environmental protection requirements make manufacturers research and develop many control devices in dust control, which may reduce the pollution of dust to the environment when the VSI machine is running.
