Tungsten Carbide Chute Liner and Its Application in Cement Industry

Introduction:


In mining, metallurgy, chemical industry, coal ,waste recycling, aggregate, cement, and other industries, there are serious wear and tear problems of material conveying equipment. Take the example of cement industry, clinker chute, hopper, silo, inner wall of cyclone (coarse and fine powder separator in thermal power plant), industrial and mining enterprise hopper, silo, steel industry chute, silo, hopper and other equipment that are in direct contact with mineral materials. There are practical problems such as serious wear and tear, high maintenance shifts, loud noise, and large dust pollution.

Traditional wear-resistant equipment usually uses wear-resistant castables that are easy to detach and have poor wear resistance; wear-resistant steel plates that have high cost, heavy equipment load and short wear-resistant life; and the wear-resistant ceramic liners that have high hardness and wear resistance except its relatively poor strength and low impact resistance that can cause the ceramic blocks crack and fall off during the processing.

The cemented carbide wear-resistant lining plate developed by our company will more effectively solve the problems of severe wear of equipment in the above industries, greatly extending the service life of equipment and reducing downtime for maintenance. The working efficiency of the new tungsten carbide liner chute will be increased to 10 times than that of the original ceramic liner chute.


1. Material properties of cemented carbide

Cemented carbide is an alloy material made of hard compound of refractory metal and bonding metal through powder metallurgy process.

Cemented carbide has a series of excellent properties such as high hardness, wear resistance, good strength and toughness, heat resistance and corrosion resistance. Especially its high hardness and wear resistance remain basically unchanged even at a temperature of 500 °C , and it still has high hardness at 1000℃.

Tungsten carbide is also known as "industrial teeth" and has been widely used as tool material, such as turning tools, milling cutters, planers, drills, boring tools, etc., for cutting cast iron, non-ferrous metals, plastics, chemical fibers, graphite, glass, stone and ordinary steel, and can also be used for cutting difficult-to-machine materials such as heat-resistant steel, stainless steel, high manganese steel, tool steel, etc.

Cemented carbide is also widely used to manufacture cutting tools, cobalt tools and wear-resistant parts in military, aerospace , machining, metallurgy, oil drilling, mining tools, electronic communications, construction, recycling and other fields. With the development of downstream industries, the market demand for cemented carbide continues to increase. And in the future, the manufacturing of high-tech weapons and equipment, the progress of cutting-edge science and technology, the rapid development of nuclear energy and recycling in sustainable industry will greatly increase the demand for cemented carbide products with high-tech content and high-quality stability.


2. The application of tungsten Cemented Carbide Chute Liner

In view of the serious wear and tear of the clinker chute in the cement industry, the inner wall of the cyclone (coarse and fine powder separator in thermal power plants), the hopper silo in industrial and mining enterprises, the chute and silo in the iron and steel industry, etc., and facing such problams: the material is easy to separate, the wear resistance is poor, the wear-resistant steel plate is expensive and the wear-resistant life is short, and the traditional ceramic sheet is easy to fall off in a high temperature environment, our company has specially developed the new cemented tungsten carbide lining plates.

Tungsten Cemented Carbide Chute Liner Plates are manufactured with our special carbide material. The special tungsten carbide for the wear resistant palte has the characteristics of high hardness, high strength and high wear resistance. Its service life is much higher than the traditional wear-resistant plate. Our carbide wear chute lining is vacuum welded to steel substrate.

The special vacuum welding process is used to combine the tungsten carbide with the steel perfectly. It can be applied to various harsh environments such as high temperature, low cold and high impact.

Except for the cement industry, our tungsten carbide specialized tile lining plate can also be used for mineral processing and transportation via mechanical or conveying systems, such as typical fixed plant equipment consists of chutes, feed bins, fan boxes, crushers, screen plates, fan blades, cyclones and pipe spools.
