What is the density of tungsten steel carbide?

Dec 07, 2022

YG6, YG8 and YG15 are all tungsten-cobalt cemented carbides with hardness up to 89.5HRA and high strength, impact resistance, toughness and wear resistance. They are commonly used materials in the tool industry. Common sizes are round bar, sheet, plate, strip, tube, ring and so on. The commonly used brands are: YG3X, YG3, YG6, YG8, YG12, YL10.2, YL60, YG15, YG20, YG25, V10, V20, V40, Z01, Z10, Z30, etc

Brand number interpretation method:

The brand is made up of "YG" and "Y" representing the pinyin initials of hard alloy,

"G" stands for cobalt Pinyin initial.

Chemical composition of YG6: tungsten W:94%, Co:6%

YG8 chemical composition: tungsten W:92%, cobalt Co:8%

Chemical composition of YG15: tungsten W:85%, cobalt Co:15%

Performance:

Density (g/cm):14.6-15.0

Bending strength (σbb/MPa):1450

Impact toughness σK/(J/cm):2.6

Purpose:

It is often used for high-precision machining, tool materials, lathes, impact drill bits, glass cutter head, tile cutter, cutting cast iron, non-ferrous metals, plastics, chemical fiber, graphite, glass, stone and ordinary steel, and can also be used to cut heat-resistant steel, stainless steel, high manganese steel, tool steel and other difficult materials.
