The low-pressure hot isostatic pressing technology, which was successfully developed in the 1980s and quickly popularized, is a breakthrough in the field of cemented carbide production technology, which makes the low-cost production of cemented carbide products very close to the theoretical density a reality. Since the advent of the first low-pressure hot isostatic pressing equipment successfully developed by the American Ultra High-Pressure Company in 1989, in just a few years, the technology has achieved rapid development, almost all over the world, and the quality of the entire cemented carbide has been greatly affected. improvement plays an important role.


In the 1980s, another feature of the development of the world cemented carbide industry is that cemented carbide products are developing in the direction of precision and miniaturization, in addition to high-tech products such as micro twist drills, dot matrix printing needles, and precision molds. The requirements for the dimensional accuracy of cutting tools are also getting higher and higher. Some advanced manufacturers have eliminated the accuracy standard of U-grade carbide inserts. At the same time, the size of many carbide molds has reached the micron level and super micron level.
